iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba from iRobot is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that performs well on both bare flooring and floor carpets with a low pile. It has good suction and cleans most debris, however it isn't able to handle bigger debris like sand or rice. It also does a good job of cleaning pet hair but it's not immune to tangling like top Roomba models, such as the I6 or j7.

The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It has three buttons on the top cover. Clean, which initiates a cleaning session and 'Dock' that places it in its charging station and "Spot," which initiates the targeted cleaning. You can control it via a smartphone application that allows you to schedule cycles, stop and start them and adjust settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum is a little slower than the others, however it is still able to reach most corners and crevices. It has a large dustbin that is ideal to reduce the frequency at which you need to empty it. It is compatible with digital barriers and virtual barriers, which allow you to make it impossible to clean certain areas or even stop cleaning completely if you want to keep it from getting stuck on something.

It's not the best in its price range but it's still superior to other models. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694, and it is able to clean both low-pile and bare carpets. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a better route. It is also more comfortable to use and has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, costs less to own over its lifetime, and charges faster than the 694.

It's also worth looking at other, more premium models in the iRobot range, such as the 981 or the v7. The 981 and v7 are more expensive, but have significant improvements in cleaning performance, for both bare and low pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment and charge faster, move more easily, and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

The combination brush is able to reach the edges and corners, and automatically increases suction as soon as it spots carpet. It also does an excellent job of cleaning dirt on carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ has a tiny footprint and has a self-emptying feature. If you want to change the floor levels or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities however it doesn't have no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. Its intelligent-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, though it is prone to get caught up in rug tassels, and its iHome speaker lets you control the robot with voice commands.

During our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to get rid of the majority of hair on bare floors and a decent amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less effective on shag carpet, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was able to navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on floors with no flooring but it quickly recovered and performed better than the other robots we tried.

The IQ is a more suitable choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life and best robot vacuum is more adept at navigating obstacles. It has mopping tools that can clean up sticky mess. On the other hand the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance, incurs lower recurring costs, and can create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It can continue cleaning where it left off even if the battery runs out before it's finished. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which is a huge plus for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it provides great cleaning power at a low cost. It's designed for those who don't need a complicated mapping system or an app to control the device. This robot can run for more than an hour and includes a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek with an upper deck of tempered glass that is covered with plastic, which is finished to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice departure from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

In our tests, the eufy11S was very effective in removing larger particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean high-pile and medium-pile carpets. The device is also prone to hit furniture and people in its path however, it's able detect obstacles with sensors. It stops and emits a loud noise when it encounters an obstacle. You can then manually guide the device around it to return it to working.

Another great aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor type and the amount of dirt. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you'd like it to move.

If you don't have much furniture in the area you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy will take 30 minutes cleaning the area it's assigned.

You can also opt for Edge Cleaning that restricts the time spent in each area to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. With this option the eufy moves in a spiral pattern to clean edges and corners to ensure a clean.

It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system that allows it to adapt to different types of flooring without manual adjustments.

The model comes with a SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors and carpeting of medium-pile. The powerhead is also easy to maneuver and can reach tough spots. It comes with five different adjustments to the surface and an off-brush switch to avoid tangled hairs.

The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll, a UtraClean Mode that cleans the same area up to three times, and a self emptying dustbin that you can empty by pressing a button.
