In our experience, the iRobot S9+ doesn't get loud during operation and is a great option for those living with kids or pets.

Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

Some robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled by a smartphone application, while others feature mopping technology for kitchen and bathroom flooring. They're a great choice for busy families and they are becoming more affordable. However, if you want the latest features for your robotic vacuum cleaner, you're going to need to pay a little more.

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a complete vacuum and mopping machine making it a great choice for those in a house with multiple floors. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold a large amount of pet hair. Its dual motors provide an impressive amount of cleaning power. The dustbin is easily removed and emptied which is great since you'll have to do this on a regular basis.

It's simple to set up as well, but I do recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid before running it for the first time. You'll have to install the Eufy Home app and follow the instructions to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. After you've completed this the app will help you create an accurate map of your home. You can label the rooms, break large spaces into sub-rooms to make it easier to open-plan living, and direct the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas in need of cleaning at a specific time. Eufy's application is more user-friendly and precise than other robots that have similar scanning and mapping functions.

A great feature on the X8 Hybrid is that you can start the mop or vacuum with your voice thanks to integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot even more hands-free, and it is working well in our test house.

As with many robotic vacuums the X8 Hybrid has some issues with floors that are bare. It may miss pet hair and small objects, and it is prone to get into things, like its own charger that sits on its charging base. It's also not as quiet as some other models we've tested and the whirring noise can be distracting.

Roborock V3S Pro

This robot isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we evaluated however, it does have all the essentials. It has a huge dust bin which can hold a lot of dirt prior to needing to be cleaned. The mop and vacuum system is ideal for carpets with good robot vacuum hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile. It is also very quiet. We were able to watch the TV while it was cleaning without feeling like we were bombarded with noise.

Our test subjects were impressed with how easy it was to set up and use, and they were impressed by its capacity to take all the mess out of their floors. It was effective in picking up pet hair, messes, and carpeting however, it was a bit more difficult at removing stubborn stains. The app was simple to use and intuitive. It was able to program the vacuum to clean regularly to cut down on manual work. It doesn't have object avoidance or mapping technology, which means it cannot be used to send specific rooms or follow virtual borders (though magnetic boundaries are compatible).

The V3S Pro is another model from the iRobot's budget line. It comes with several impressive features for a reasonable price. It was the best robot vacuum in our tests for mapping and avoiding obstacles. It's also a great budget option for those seeking an intelligent, self-emptying robotic vacuum that can take care of hair and pet messes on hardwood floors or carpets with low pile. It's also extremely quiet and has a large dust bin that can hold plenty of debris prior to when it's time to empty it, so you don't have to be concerned about having to empty it every time you use it.

The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choices lists from reliable sources that perform hands-on tests, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They appreciated the ease with which it was install and use, however they did note that its battery life is short and it didn't manage to avoid some of the toughest mess we've put it through.

Roborock has taken its time developing this innovative cleaner. The result is that the product is incredibly well-built and feels like it was made with premium materials. The base is sturdy and robust with an integrated charging port for the battery. The docking station is located for the tank that is clean and dirty-water bins on top. There's also a panel under the dock that holds a sealed vacuum bag.

After connecting your device to the application, you'll be able to see a 3D and 2D map of your home that shows you where your robot is at any given time and the specific area it's cleaning. You can also create virtual barriers to keep the robot out of certain areas and make sure it's only cleaning certain types of floors. It can also adjust its power settings according to the type of floor being cleaned and select the most efficient cleaning method.

Luckily, you can decrease the frequency of this by utilizing the auto-empty feature that will automatically empty the bin after a few days. You'll still have to monitor the levels of water in the dock manually though, as there isn't an automatic reminder.
